On a glorious Friday, under the radiant sun at Woodford Wells Club, five of our exceptionally talented Year 6 tennis players participated in the ISA U11 Tennis Championships. Each pupil played five singles matches against competitors from five other schools, aiming to reach the decisive 10-point mark. Demonstrating remarkable skill and sportsmanship, our team triumphed over all competing schools, finishing at the top of the table and bringing the trophy back to Oaklands!
The final results were as follows:
- Oaklands 4 – 1 Coopersale
- Oaklands 4 – 1 St John’s
- The Webber 0 – 5 Oaklands
- Lockers Park 2 – 3 Oaklands
- Oaklands 3 – 2 Avon House
In addition to the team competition, the children participated in a singles tournament, competing in the ‘Italian Open’ and the ‘French Open’. They performed admirably against highly skilled opponents. Special congratulations go to Alice, who narrowly missed winning her semi-final match, and to Max, who achieved a commendable runner-up position.
