Oaklands Children Vote!

You will be pleased to hear that democracy is alive and well at Oaklands. Today, in an effort to enhance the natural environment and offset climate change, the children voted for the fruit tree that they would like their House to plant in the school grounds. The children learnt that the right to vote is an important part of Fundamental British Values. Al of the children were able to post their vote in the Oaklands Ballot Box. The children are excited to know that once they reach eighteen years of age they will be able to vote in the next General Election. They understand that their vote will help influence important decision making in a position way.
