Lower Kindergarten had a tasty way to support the children’s fine motor skills last week, by making their own sandwich to take home. They had the choice of honey, butter or jam.
First, the class talked about how to use a knife safely. Next the children demonstrated how to spread their filling and with support, cut their sandwich in half.
Spreading is very tricky, as the children have to learn to hold the knife at a slight angle and pull the spread towards them.
