A Visit from Duffy the Guide Dog

The children at Oaklands School have been learning about the role of guide dogs in the community and how they support people who have sight loss. They particularly enjoyed meeting Duffy, who is a puppy being trained to become a guide dog. They were particularly impressed by how well-behaved he was throughout the entire assembly. The pupils learnt about how guide dogs could be trained to navigate a range of different obstacles, access public transport, our town centres and help people who are visually impaired to live their lives safely.
