On Friday 2 February it was the Badgers and Squirrels turn to visit Mellows care home. The children were very excited for the visit and were excellent at remembering the rules when walking to the home.
During the walk the children were singing and using their number skills by noticing numerals in the environment, as well as being conscious of road safety! Once at the care home the children made the residents day by preforming beautifully, singing and dancing with Mrs Rathbone. They then enjoyed looking at stories and telling everyone about our topic ‘Caring for Others.’ Once again Kim, the events manager, said just how wonderful Oaklands children are and how happy it had made the elderly! The Garden Room staff would like to say a big thank you to all of our helpers.
